Job Title: Power BI Developer

SUMMARY
Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO AVN) serves Soldiers and our nation by designing, developing, delivering, and supporting advanced aviation capabilities for operational commanders and our allies. PEO AVN’s vision is to provide effective and efficient execution of the Aviation Portfolio to provide enhanced reach & reliability to combat commanders. PEO AVN is building a data analytics and reporting team to respond accordingly. This position is as a data team member supporting the PEO AVN vision and mission.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the gathering of end-user reporting requirements
- Generate detailed documentation on all SQL Queries and DAX/R/Python code used to create Power BI Reports, Dashboards, and visualizations, along with any custom slicers, measures, calculated fields, etc.
- Assist in the design of reporting requirements
- Build and deploy end-user reports using Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and other reporting tools
- Developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI desktop.
- Connect data sources, import data, and transform data for Business intelligence
- Implement row-level security on data along with an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI
- Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards
- Assist in the testing of developed dashboards and reports
- Ensure all required system specifications are fully functional, properly implemented, and secure
- Provide assistance and training to users accessing the system and prepare instructional material to support functionality
- Assist in the documentation of team best practices and standard operating procedures
- Provide technical recommendations for leveraging emerging technology in adherence to governmental policy and regulations
- Create, monitor, and optimize data transfers to/from external origins for scheduling and maintenance
- Identify and troubleshoot problems and coordinate with the Government Lead to ensure problems are resolved to the users' satisfaction
- Provide clear, efficient communication with customers and stakeholders during requirement gathering, development, product delivery, and support cycles
- Provide collaborative support as required to interface government applications with Power BI to provide near real-time report capabilities
- Support interface connection agreements between government applications and external data sources
- Generate complex queries and reports in support of software development efforts
- Maintain detailed documentation on the Dashboard, Dataset, and Data Model design
- Maintain adherence to DOD Cyber Security standards regarding PII/FOUO sensitive data, data aggregation classification, and product access permissions assignments
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years experience as a Data Engineer or relevant field
- Candidate with a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field is preferred

Environmental Conditions
- The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands
- Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
