Shannon's Exclusive Child Care @ Geist in McCordsville, IN, an early childhood education center, is currently seeking a qualified teacher for our Preschool classroom & our Toddler classroom.

We are looking for a fun and energetic Teacher. We are looking for dynamic individuals who have a BA, BS, AA or CDA in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or similarly related fields.

Daily Responsibilities

Our Lead and Assistant Teachers work together:

• Developing lesson plans
• Meeting the individual's needs of the children
• Effectively and professionally communicating to parents and fellow staff members
• Participating in staff meetings and training events as scheduled
• Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
• Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
• Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level
• Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem, intellectual stimulation, and social skills
• Building teamwork
• Using a variety of assessment tools
• Committing to continuing education

Teachers are responsible for writing and implementing their own lesson plans based on Developmental Guidelines and school themes. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!

Teacher Qualifications:

• CDA, Associates or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Prior classroom experience (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten)
• Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Strong written and communication skills
• Early Education and Care Certification

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
