The Opportunity
A unique role at the intersection of Ally’s operations, finance, and modeling groups. You will develop a deep understanding of Ally’s consumer auto loan operations and uncertain events to measure risks to one of the largest auto loan portfolios in the United States.
This role’s primarily focus is on maximizing efficiency of predictive and prescriptive analytics from training to deployment of models. You will use the latest technology to streamline and scale up forecasting processes. You will also be involved in building models and encouraged to suggest improvements to forecasting structure and methodology.
The Work Itself
- Dive deep into Ally’s data to make connections between data, business operations, and financial metrics
- Build and scale-up Python processes to make predictions on millions of loans
- Build computationally efficient prescriptive processes that aid business decision making
- Act as liaison with data and technology teams at Ally
- Simplify Excel processes by streamlining data flow or with automation through code
- Creative development of tools and use of existing tools to perform credit risk ad hoc analytics
The Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of professional working experience
- Advanced programming in SQL, Python & SnowPark (or Spark) - SAS also beneficial
- Understanding of neural network models and experience training and deploying on big data platforms for tabular data
- Strong data engineering skills to pipe data through query, prediction, deployment, and visualization
- Experience with KPI visualization in software like PowerBI or ThoughtSpot
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Highly motivated and self-directed
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is helpful
- Subject matter expertise with loan data and operations
- Stochastic prescriptive analytics through simulation or optimization #li-hybrid
