Our client based in Cobble Hill Brooklyn is seeking a part-time Private Chef to cook for their family 5 days per week - The Chef will menu plan for the family. Shop for fresh groceries, prepare / cook and serve 1 meal per visit family style. The main focus of the meals will be Asian (Thai-Korean-Japenese) but not limited to just Asian meals.

This is a long- term part-time position. Hourly Rate is $50 per hour. Hours per shift will be 3 hours, 5 days per week with late afternoon start, $750 per week.

Desired /Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of Private/Personal Chef cooking experience in a private residence is required
• A proven background professionally cooking Asian cuisine is required
• A culinary school degree/diploma is preferred
• A valid food handlers license or ServSafe certificate is preferred
• Reside in or close to Brooklyn- within easy reach is required
• Have a late afternoon availability 5 days every week (Monday-Friday) required
• Knowledge/ability to cook a variety of cuisines in addition to Asian
• A friendly personality, able to effectively communicate with the family
• Able to multi-task in the kitchen (must be able to handle multiple dishes cooking at the same time)
• Works clean & follows food safety protocols
• Able to handle criticism
• Able to maintain client privacy/discretion
• Able to work independently and be a self-starter
• Comfortable with menu planning for the family
• Proof of a full Covid-19 vaccination maybe required- Must follow the families requested Covid-19 protocols (mask wearing/social distancing).

Job Description:

• Cook for a family 5 days per week/on a weekly basis, weekdays only during the late afternoons- long term (Part-Time Only)
• The family will rely on the Chef to manage all of the menu planning for approval
• Must be very creative and comfortable with menu planning, able to take full charge
• Shop for groceries in-person, able to source local foods
• Cook, serve the meals family-style
• Clean up after the cooking is complete
