The role requires the ability to establish credibility and build rapport with decision makers, advisors and representatives at broker-dealers (BDs) and registered investment advisors (RIAs) to promote Baker Tilly branded real estate private placement investment offerings, which include tax-advantaged strategies through Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs) and opportunity zones (OZs). A high level of professionalism, proactive communication and responsiveness to meet BD and RIA service expectations is essential to increasing the quantity and quality of the selling group to distribute Baker Tilly’s investment offerings. Extensive travel is required. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain and grow key relationships in the BD and RIA distribution channels.
- The role will be focused on the sales and service of DST and OZ investments developed and sponsored by Baker Tilly.
- The candidate will work independently, building relationships with key decision-making personnel, advisors and reps.
- The candidate will set and manage meetings with key personnel, utilize and deploy internal resources to expand the awareness and external adoption of the unique value proposition offered by Baker Tilly.
- Achieve annual sales goals by developing, maintaining and growing key relationships in the BD and RIA channels. Additionally, timely inputting of activities and opportunities into the CRM system will also be monitored.
- Provide market feedback to the product development team to enhance the development of new offerings that will be accepted by the investing market.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in finance, investments or related business discipline. MBA, preferred.
- Series 7, 22 or 82 and 63 Securities Licenses
- 5+ years of sales experience marketing investments to RIAs and broker-dealers
- Demonstrated success marketing tax-enhanced investments to RIAs and broker-dealers.
- Be able to travel extensively
- High level of professionalism, self-motivation, responsiveness and proactive service disposition
- Ability to quickly learn technical tax details in order to competently market complex investments
