Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Expectations:

  • To evaluate patient health and wellness, COTA may conduct tests and evaluations to measure a patient's mobility and emotional and social skills.
  • A COTA may conduct tests and evaluations to measure a patient's mobility and emotional and social skills.
  • Develop a treatment plan for a patient recovering from an injury.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient progress and provide reports to the occupational therapist.

Requirements:

  • Current OTA license
  • Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must have completed NBCOT examinations for Occupational Therapy Assistants
  • CPR certification
