Job description
The Process Engineer has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering department assignments. The process engineer is also responsible for new product introduction, process development and improvement, cost reduction initiatives, process control initiatives, and maintenance activities on production parts, tooling, and equipment.
We are looking for a Process Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company in the LA Mesa area.
Essential Functions:
  • Provide process engineering support to production, assuring accurate and detailed manufacturing process instructions and feedback
  • Resolve quality and tooling issues to produce aerospace metal components (gears and gearing boxes)
  • Perform failure analysis and root cause analysis when product/process problems occur
  • Assist in troubleshooting processes and machine issues
  • Train and teach new hires about processes and updated practices
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all estimates
  • Production capacity analysis
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
  • Perform well in a high-pressure manufacturing environment
  • Work along with the production and engineering team in the planning and purchasing of new equipment
  • Implement process and perform failure mode effect analysis to establish correct operating conditions

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing is a MUST.
  • Minimum 5 years of Process Engineer experience
  • Experience with CNC machinery and conventional machinery is PREFERRED.
  • Experience in creating/reviewing product requirements and specification documents.
  • Experience with equipment/process/product verification and validation under a regulatory environment.
  • May be required to attend a variety of gear manufacturing courses and seminars.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the proper usage and application of precision measuring equipment
