Job Summary
The Master Data Management team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual committed to capturing detailed requirements and prioritizing them based on our customers and operators most pressing business challenges. This role will focus on understanding business requirements, translating them to user stories with fully vetted acceptance criteria.
Success as a Product Owner in our team requires a combination of analytical, client-oriented, data analysis, and project management skillsets, as well as an understanding of data best practices. The ideal candidate has previous experience working on master data management projects and gathering business requirements through client and stakeholder interviews. Additionally, this role will require a person who can learn, adapt, problem-solve, and communicate at a very high level as well as detailed level.
Job Responsibilities
- Gathers, leads, and prioritizes customer requirements by acting as the customer advocate clearly articulating all needs, test scenarios and acceptance criteria
- Compose and update backlog stories and defects to populate the agile teams backlog
- Organize, maintain, and prioritize agile team backlog in alignment with business stakeholders and leadership
- Leading grooming sessions to collaborate with the Scrum Team to break down and understand the business outcomes needed
- Creating and owning User Stories and approving the final product
- Partners closely with technical team, data stewards, and customers to ensure the identified business case and goals are met with satisfaction maximizing value with predictability
- Understands and prioritizes work based on product roadmap established by product manager, build sprints according with the needed functionality to meet the product increment goals
- Ensures domain backlog is up to date and effectively prioritized in accordance with the product vision and roadmap
- Participate as needed in design review sessions to ensure feasibility of requirements
- Develop a knowledge of system capabilities and functionality then apply knowledge to recommend creative solutions when issues arise
- Works with Product director to deliver high level timelines based on detailed requirements, team estimates, and prioritized user stories
- Developing features and PBIs in a "ready" state for the teams to estimate efforts
- Analyze business needs to identify new processes or process improvements that will meet those needs (Current and future state mapping)
- Experience of supporting complex change and/or multi-disciplinary projects and a track record of successful and predictable delivery
- Coordinate and lead report development demos
- Form strong working relationships with stakeholders and other cross functional leaders
- Responsible for ensuring testing is appropriately documented, with evidence recorded and transition documentation up to date before go-live and support migration
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner and always demonstrate a respect for others
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years experience as a business analyst on data related projects
- Minimum of 2+ years experience/understanding of use case modeling and agile project work
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Business, Education, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Engineering, or similar
- Experience with tools such as: Azure Dev Ops, Smartsheets, and Miro
- On time development of user stories, application requirements, and/or process flow diagrams
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Meeting facilitation skills - identified appropriate participants, manages meeting planning and logistics
- Experience performing end user interviews
- Ability to document business user stories in a manner that business, engineers, solution architects, data stewards and data developers understand and can deliver based on
- Creative problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues
- Managing conflicting priorities and gaining consensus across multiple user groups
- Committed and enthusiastic approach to supporting business customers and end users
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility to work with teams, individuals and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
- Ability to easily build new relationships and proactively establish a variety of contacts across the organization
- Bonus if experience with STEP MDM Platform or other MDM tools
- Bonus qualifications: IIBA, PMP, SCRUM, CSPO, CSM, PMI - ACP, CCBA
