ASSEMBLY SOLUTIONS

As a global supplier of solder technologies, fluxes, cleaners and other attachment materials for the electronics assembly industry, we develop innovative materials that join electronic circuits in high volume device manufacturing. Our high-performing interconnect materials are used to assemble consumer electronics from circuit boards, discrete electronic components, connectors and integrated circuit substrates.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide technical support to the Flexible, Formable & Printed Electronics (FFPE) Group as it relates to existing products as well as new and developing products. The position is also responsible for leading a variety of marketing related projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Requiring strong communication skills, an attention to detail and self-motivation, the Product Specialist is a key member of the global FFPE Team who supports the Global Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, Director of Marketing, Global Applications Manager, and GPEG in a variety of areas including (but not limited to):
    • Creating and maintaining Technical Bulletins, Product Flyers, Product Manuals, and other product related collateral
    • Aiding in creating new Product Item Numbers, MSDS approvals, addressing raw material questions and other internal system and process related issues.
    • Collecting and disseminating of technical data for global portfolio managers, sales, and customer technical support teams.
    • Preparation of technical papers, articles and other types of communication and reports.
    • Creates and maintains database of market information related to Flexible Printed Electronics, Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE) and In Mold Electronics (IME), in areas such as: Automotive Electronics, Consumer Electronics, Medical Electronics, White Goods, etc.
    • Write whitepapers, compile competitive information, etc.
  • Contributes to bottom line results in high energy and dynamic situations that require teamwork, planning, communication, and implementation / execution skills.
  • Work with Operations and Global Process Engineering Group to ensure product samples are available pre-launch and that material is available for sale post launch. Ensure that the appropriate items numbers are set up in the ERP system.
  • Manages day-to-day progress of projects and keep Manager, Project Champion and other interested parties updated via timely and responsive communication.
  • Identify areas where processes can be improved, costs could be reduced, or timelines can be accelerated to shorten time to market for new products.
  • Work with Global and Regional Marketing Communication teams to support creation of collateral for product launch, industry education and positioning, and promotions.
  • Conducts market research projects as needed and defined by the Marketing Team. The market research can include basic data collection via internet, surveys and both internal and externally conducted interviews, collation and organization of the raw data and assessment of the implications of the data. Finally working with the project sponsor in the development of a close out market research report and recommended actions from the project.

Qualifications

  • Possess a BS degree from a four-year college or university in a technical discipline (preferably an engineering discipline) with two to five years’ experience.
  • Prior experience in flexible, formable, and printed electronics preferred.
  • Occasional travel (less than 10% of working time) both globally and domestically is required.
