1 - First Shift
The Production Area Manager leads all activities of assigned team, including safety, quality, fulfillment, cost, and inventory. This position is responsible for measuring all critical business aspects related to the assigned team while clearly communicating information to plant leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Lead by exhibiting the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors. Supervise, organize, mentor and coach assigned team members in performance of their duties while influencing others to carry the Vermeer culture forward. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s strategies and objectives to drive key business results. Use expertise to ensure department is serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.
2. Manage all aspects of assigned area including, but not limited to, projects, production, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving and quality. Ensure on-time delivery of the product, within budget, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
3. Drive root cause problem solving to address vendor, supplier and customer issues concerning quality and delivery.
4. Lead the development and implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement projects to improve cost, quality and safety standards for assigned area.
5. Ensure safety of assigned area.
6. Manage required documentation to meet Vermeer internal and external regulations.
7. Encourage team member development and engagement. Create an environment for team members to learn and grow.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)/high school equivalency test (HiSET).
  • Minimum five years' experience in manufacturing; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum three years of leadership experience required.
  • Continuous improvement experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems or trouble shoot issues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of performance measurements including, but not limited to, safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory.

  • Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Location
ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
