Job Title: Production Engineer

Department: Operations

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Position Overview:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for conducting analysis, optimization, production maintenance and improvements on wells, surface facilities and infrastructure. This individual will also provide engineering support to other technical staff and departments, including operations, land, finance, accounting and HSE as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and operations support that optimizes daily production and ultimate recovery of producing properties through operational best practices.
  • Identifies opportunities and provides economics, procedures, implementation planning and oversight for workovers, recompletions, artificial lift, optimization, intervention, surveillance, well integrity, P&As and other work needed on existing wells and infrastructure.
  • Optimize well production and reduce downtime through the integrated analysis of well failures, chemical program, compression and artificial lift technologies.
  • Oversight of product treatment to meet 3rd party offtake specifications (oil, gas and water)
  • Provide input to completions on chemicals that can be used during completions to mitigate against longer term production scaling and corrosion tendencies
  • Responsible for flowback strategy and approach for wells post drill out.
  • Coordinate with field production leads on frac protect measures.
  • Design, implement and optimize artificial lift technology such as gas lift, rod pump and

ESPs, as well as planning and execution of workover programs and conducting root cause failure analysis.

  • Actively review and establish production forecasts and monthly nominations.
  • Actively support facility design and planning to incorporate lessons learned and improvements for future operations and optimizations
  • Support the operations team’s review of field operating costs through analysis, continuous improvement of key cost drivers and active participation in LOE forecasting and reviews.
  • Support regulatory initiates as they relate to production and reporting to help ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Actively manage and participate in quarterly well reviews.
  • Ensures data is properly being entered in Production Accounting system and validates external production reporting.
  • Manages and approves invoices in OpenInvoice system.
  • Review and approve monthly JIB reports from partners and prepares cost analysis.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with strong work ethic having excellent teamwork, planning, and robust organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (written and oral) for interface with engineers, company management, field personnel and service providers.
  • Ability to strategically plan and oversee execution on multiple projects.
  • Ability to work with the operation teams to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Demonstrated success increasing production, controlling costs, and delivering value.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and team needs to meet established deadlines.
  • Competent user of multiple programs for technical analysis and reporting (Spotfire,

ARIES, production data capture and reporting, daily workover data capture and reporting, artificial lift design and optimization, SCADA and well surveillance).

  • Experienced with statistical and multivariate analysis.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Access,

Power Point, and Teams.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (with a focus in Petroleum, Mechanical or

Chemical preferred) from a four-year college or university

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience – Permian experience with a focus on horizontal development of unconventional reservoirs
  • 3+ years of experience with rod pumps and ESPs
  • Exposure to field operations, production, completions, and drilling activities

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000
