Job Description – Production Department Manager
CraneWorks is a successful heavy-duty truck mounted equipment manufacturer and distributor with offices in Houston, TX / Haslet, TX / Brighton, CO / Hampton, NJ / Orlando, FL / San Marcos, CA and Olathe, KS. CraneWorks also has outstanding in-house Service and Parts Departments at all locations and provides mobile service trucks that allow us to respond in the field. Our world class Parts Departments can ship parts anywhere in the world.
CraneWorks has a direct hire opportunity for a Production Manager for our Houston, Texas operations. The objective of this role is to manage, oversee and especially GROW our Production Department through development and continued improvement of existing and new processes and flows. Managing and growing new customer relationships is essential as well.
Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, qualified candidates will be responsible for, daily Management and Supervision of the Production Department personnel to include:
- Planning and scheduling crane truck builds as well as other manufacturing functions of all equipment.
- All shop equipment maintenance and repair.
- New and used equipment preparation along with warranty repairs, and Rental fleet equipment.
- Safety and Environmental compliance programs, including Technician training paths.
- Full P&L responsibility and the department’s achievement of key financial metrics.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications.
- Enhance production department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Work closely with Local and Corporate Management to develop and implement target account specific objectives, strategies, and action plans.
- Quote prices, bid specifications and maintain records as outlined by management.
- Assist sales staff by answering inquiries regarding products, prices, availability and product uses.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and communicate this information to management.
- Work with other departments closely to provide a quality product for all customers.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
· Candidate must live in CraneWorks branch metropolitan area
· Specific experience Managing Production Departments and working on brands including but not limited to Kenworth, Sterling, Cormach, Tadano, Demag, Manitex, Fassi, Palfinger, Socage, Elliott and Terex and equipment types such as knuckle booms & telescopic cranes, man lifts/aerial equipment and material handling equipment.
· 10 years of proven Production Management and Technician/Mechanic experience with heavy-duty truck and truck mounted equipment expertise in a production workshop environment.
· Must be able to read engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
· Self-motivated and disciplined with an ability to work closely with management and customers
· Excellent communication, analytical, and problem- solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
· Must be dependable and have a valid driver’s license
· Good PC Skills: Excel and Word
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
