Our client is looking to hire a Production Manager to work in their manufacturing Plant in San Bernardino County that manufacturers metal construction materials.

The Production Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, compliant and profitable management of the manufacturing facility.

They are interested in a hands-on leader who can play a critical role and support the Director of Operations. This opportunity requires an exceptional team player with the ability to drive innovation and excellence and partner with the team to drive their commitment to 100% box quality and 100% on time delivery.

The position requires an understanding and passion for the competitive nature of a world class manufacturing plant. The candidate should be innovative, disciplined, proactive and have a forward-thinking approach to problem solving.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain a stable team of direct reports

· Effectively lead subordinate managers, supervisors and employees

· Focus on development of staff

· Production Planning – Liaise closely with Purchasing and Customer Service and Shipping to ensure cut lists and material are available for planned schedule.

· Ensure that all production is compliant in accordance with the company compliance standards.

· Follow Union contract and develop strong relationship with local officials

· Keep informed of all government rules and regulations and how they apply to the industry

· Report potential problems

· Monitor, coordinate and assist with physical inventory counts

· Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers

· Analyze and continuously improve manufacturing variances

· Ensure product is delivered to the customer on time and in full

· Manage and prepare monthly and annual budgets.

· Continuously improve standards of Quality, Health and Safety and Productivity

· Ensure adherence to current quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction

· Help resolve and reduce customer problems or complaints

· Develop, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance

· Design and implement off-line process management tools related to companies Key Performance Indicators

· Prepare and maintain appropriate production records

· Ensure timely and accurate reporting

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree required or 5 years related experience within the industry

· Basic finance and accounting skills

· Knowledge of the operation of Roll forming Equipment and Sheet Metal

· Knowledge of labor laws

· Knowledge of construction products

· Ability to calculate figures/amounts

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Ability to train and instruct employees

· Good analytical problem solving skills

· Knowledge of SAP sales order module

· Proficient with computers in general including MS Office, SAP, ADP Visio, CAD Experience is a bonus
