What you will do
The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of production workers. He/She directly supervises numerous employees in the production plant and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
How you will do it
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of customer orders
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, drawings, and production orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of workers.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Conduct daily/weekly departmental meetings pertaining to safety, quality, etc.
Other duties may be assigned
What we look for
Required:
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of six (6) years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Proficiency using MS Office Suite.
Ability to work 1st Shift (5:00AM-2:30PM or 7:00AM-4:30PM).
Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing/production will also be considered.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience utilizing Lean tools to measure and improve the departments Key Business Drivers (i.e. VSM, SMED, 5s, TPM, Kaizen, etc.).
