Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Train and lead hourly Service Workers to perform the basic tasks of the WSU Creamery Production department. These tasks include- Tanker Driving, Whey Hauling, Pasteurizing, Maintenance, Documentation, Quality control, Sanitation practices and procedures, and lab testing.
  • Oversee the equipment maintenance functions
  • Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of hourly production service workers.
  • Daily monitor all equipment and systems for proper operations
  • Complete the routine maintenance plan and troubleshoot operational problems on demand
  • Monitor inventories of products and supplies
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept and maintained
  • Maintain accurate, organized paperwork and filing system for HACCP documents
  • Ensure employees follow good manufacturing practices

Work schedule as follows Monday 9 AM - 5:30 PM, T- F 6:30 AM to 3 PM

Required Qualifications:

Two years' experience in game farm operations or one year of experience in a creamery or dairy processing work, at least six months must include experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • The position requires the ability to obtain a food handler's permit, and a valid driver's License.
  • Department of Agriculture licenses including: Measuring, Weighing, Grading, Sampling; Plant Sampling; Vat Pasteurizing; HTST Pasteurizing.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • One or more years of supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience directing the work of others.
  • Experience in a Food Processing facility.
  • Experienced trainer.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.

Monthly Salary:

Range 44, $3,558.00 - $4,777.00 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
