Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Administrator for the Center for Public Health Workforce Development within the School of Public Health. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Program Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day management activities of the Center which includes coordinating the development, organization, evaluation and control of administrative responsibilities which support the Center.

- Provides administrative supervision of the daily operations and performance of the Center for Public Health Workforce Development.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of requests and actions, and professional, prompt, and courteous service to clients, which includes, but is not limited to, approving and processing all paperwork for all direct purchase requests, request for checks, purchase orders. etc.
- Develops, restructures, and supervises the implementation of procedures and processes.
- Provides oversight, facilitation, and supervision of purchasing, personnel, space and facilities planning; and facilitates business processes.
- Interprets, communicates, and implements policies and practices for differing needs of a diverse client population.
- Ensures accuracy of expenditures and timely payments.
- Monitors and prepares monthly status reports to ensure a balanced budget position for the unit.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or a related discipline plus a minimum of four (4) years of progressively more responsible related professional and/or administrative experience in either the public or private sectors.
- Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be detail-oriented, as it applies to the financial aspects and have excellent writing and editing skills is required.
- Excellent skills in the Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other similar programs used to develop outstanding presentations and slides (Adobe Photo Shop, Slide Maker Pro) or similar program is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience involving the administrative functions and finance is preferred.
- Knowledge in the analysis and reconciliation of expenses from monthly reports is preferred.

- Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
- Home and/or office environment with moderate noise.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
