Overview:
This position is responsible for planning, developing and implementing program activities and events for assigned areas under the guidance of the supervisor. Focuses on youth and family programming such as Kids Night Out and other youth programming and our anti hunger initiatives such as kids cafe, mobile food distribution, food pantry, garden planning and execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Successful planning and coordination of programs and activities.
  • Participate in marketing and recruiting activities to attract program participants.
  • Assist in managing the departmental operations.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and supervising associates and volunteers.
  • Develop associate schedules within established guidelines.
  • Assist in expanding current programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Organize and schedule program registrations and maintain records of program participants.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
  • Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
  • Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assists in staff meetings.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
  • Notify supervisor or director on duty of any unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in this or a related field.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
  • Able to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills, and be multi-task proficient.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software.
