The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Rutgers University is the largest academic unit of the University and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning humanities, social, physical and life sciences and over 100 different majors, plus programs, centers, bureaus and institutes. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School of Arts and Science (SAS). The Program Coordinator I reports to Professor Robert Kopp in his capacities as director of the Megapolitan Coastal Transformation Hub (MACH, www.coastalhub.org), and director of the Rutgers Earth System Science & Policy Lab (www.earthscipol.net).

- Coordinating convenings of team members and of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Tracking progress of research and outreach projects.
- Reporting on the progress of projects to funders and other interested parties,
- Working with team members to identify and pursue funding opportunities, and
- Providing general administrative and logistical support.
Supported by a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation, MACH is a Rutgers-led, 13-institution hub within the NSF’s Coastlines and People program. Working with community partners in the New York City-New Jersey-Philadelphia region, MACH aims to 1) facilitate flexible, equitable, and robust multidecadal planning to manage climate risk, while 2) advancing the scientific understanding of how interactions among coastal climate hazards, changing landforms, and human decisions shape climate risk. The Rutgers Earth System Science and Policy (ESSP) Lab takes a transdisciplinary, computationally intensive approach to investigating the evolution of the Earth system, human influences on the Earth system, and policy approaches for managing those human influences.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the university community.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word and Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for the integration of research and engagement to advance societal climate action.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
