Are you looking for an opportunity to show your team leadership and office support skills? The key position of Program Coordinator - SportsPlex works closely with customers and Sports Central staff performing a variety of services in support of Village and Recreation & Parks Department programs, events, facilities and initiatives. The Sportsplex Program Coordinator, in addition to selling memberships, issuing resident IDs, registering customers for programs and performing various clerical duties, will conduct orientation, staff training, and schedule Sportsplex Sports Central Staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Regular and consistent attendance is required for this position. Morning, afternoon, early evening and Saturdays are typical of this position. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including 2 Saturday morning per month.

The Program Coordinator will provide training and assist in the interview process of part-time Sports Central staff. Responsibilites include conducting orientation and coordinating monthly schedule of new Sports Central Staff. This includes receiving and responding to staff absences as well as providing coverage for open shifts when other staff are not available. The Program Coordinator promptly, professionally and accurately responds to phone inquiries regarding program availability, memberships, rental availability and fees, events, and community information. Routes calls to other staff and departments. Place calls to participants regarding cancelled classes, transfers, refunds or credits from supervisor. program updates. Greets all participants and visitors with great care, respect and cordialness. Registers participants for programs and membership passes, including processing cancellation and suspension polices in an organized manner. This position assists in utilizing a scheduler system to reserve the use of picnic areas, birthday parties, fitness assessments, orientations, and appointments by issuing the proper agreement/permits and collect appropriate payment and security deposits. Running reports for various information such as facility usage, rosters and attendance sheets for supervisors/instructors, and renewal letters for senior club members.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
KNOWLEDGE (of):
  • Strong math, organizational and computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office using Excel, Word and Outlook are required.

SKILLS:
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and a 10 key calculator with one hand.

ABILITY (to):
  • An ability to forge and develop strong relationships is expected. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Must work well in a team environment, performing with tact and courtesy in stressful situations.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a part time position, typically scheduled 20-25 per week and eligible for mandatory IMRF based on scheduled hours (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund).
