The Ryan White Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Global Health in the Department of Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is a national leader in global pediatric infectious disease clinical care, research, and education. With 24+ clinical and research faculty and a dedicated team of clinical and research staff, the division’s focus on global child health reflects the understanding that infectious diseases know no boundaries. We take seriously our mission to improve child health in Indiana and around the world!
This position will provide dedicated support to Dr. Megan McHenry and her growing Global Health research portfolio. Dr. McHenry's research program is focused on addressing the neurodevelopment of children living in low resource settings. As a result, Dr. McHenry serves as a child neurodevelopmental consultant on multiple international NIH-funded studies in both Kenya and Malawi in addition to serving as PI on multiple NIH-funded awards focused on neurodevelopment and neurophysiology of HIV-affected populations. In addition to advancing the field of research in global child neurodevelopment, she is also passionate about improving care for children with disabilities living in limited-resourced settings. She is currently working towards building a Center for Excellence in Childhood Neurodisabilities in Kenya, in partnership with Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and AMPATH, which she hopes to open in 2024.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for tracking and monitoring research activities within Dr. McHenry’s ongoing studies and initiatives.
- Helps support administrative tasks (i.e. filling out reports, completing forms, maintaining schedules and calendaring, etc.).
- Helps submit and track scholarly products (i.e. presentations, manuscripts, etc.).
General Responsibilities
- Responds to requests for program information by staff, students, and faculty; handles any necessary correspondence.
- Maintains records of program activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing and delivery of required materials.
- Conducts research and compiles materials and information in support of program.
- Collects and helps to analyze data and information generated or produced by program; writes reports and other written materials based on this data.
- Coordinates event planning related to program, while working with a wide range of people (university administrators, faculty, students, and vendors).

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary
The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000. Salary determination is based on experience, skill level, education, and training.
