What we do:
At The Arc of the Ozarks, we build relationships with individuals to help them be independent in their homes, active in the community, and educated on how to advocate for their best lives. On the Renovations team, we work with clients who have a dual-diagnosis—a developmental disability and a mental illness.
- Empower staff to improve the self-help skills of individuals served
- Develop and monitor personal plans
- Hire, separate, and coach staff as well as prepare work schedules
- Create and maintain reports and records of individuals served
This list isn’t exhaustive by any means, but you are basically a one-stop shop for leading staff in supporting our individuals served. You will be supported by a Director, Assistant Director, HR Recruiter, and many more, so you won’t be alone, but you do need to possess good judgement, and the ability to problem solve.
To qualify for this position, you need to have the following:
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree with major specialization (24 semester hours) in elementary or secondary education, special education, early childhood education, psychology, social work, sociology, counseling, recreation (including specialty areas such as art, dance, music, or physical education), speech language pathology or audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, or other specialties in the field of human services. *According to state and federal regulations, five years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- One year of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum disorders, psychiatric disorders, and/or developmental disabilities. - experience working with/ in Individualized Supported Living homes is strongly preferred
- A valid driver license and insured vehicle you are able to use for work.
