We are looking for a Programming Technician to assist Programmers in staging and testing of equipment, plus individual turnkey for smaller Configuration-only jobs.
The Programming Technician is a position supporting Cenero Operations, primarily the programming department. The main responsibilities of the Programming Techs are facilitating the configuration and testing of AV systems in the office /“shop” prior to them leaving for the jobsite. The role includes obtaining completed racks from fabrication and peripheral devices from the warehouse, and temporarily staging systems for the assigned programmer to test.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret electronic schematics
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff and submit pick tickets for requested equipment
  • Stage equipment for testing based on signal flow and/or programmer direction
  • Serve as a liaison between the programmers and project managers / operations managers, including participating in Internal Production Meetings for status updates
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external contacts as assigned technical resource for configuration-only projects
  • Provide additional support and serve as “eyes and ears” for remote programmers to facilitate system testing from remote locations
  • Maintain project documentation in company database
  • Stay current and familiar with new technology to enable setup and configuration as required
  • Maintain Cenero standards in both own work and validating standards when receiving racks from Fabrication and/or sending racks out to the warehouse.
  • Engage and work productively with others to communicate areas of improvement or adjustments to Cenero standards.
  • Assists with project commissioning and/or troubleshooting at client locations, as required.
  • Other duties assigned as necessary.

Experience and/or Education

  • High school diploma; college degree in a technical or business-related field considered an advantage.
  • Minimum of three years in the Audio Video industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365 applications
  • Avixa CTS preferred
  • Manufacture Certifications preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record

Skills:

  • Highly detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Technical understanding audiovisual systems design and installation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/UDP, Unicast/Multicast, QOS, subnets, VLAN, IP addressing, firewalls, routers, and VPNs.
  • In-depth knowledge of AV fundamentals and Avixa best practices

  • Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, and talk or hear.
  • Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
