The Programs Coordinator works directly with sites who are partners in our programming. The Programs Coordinator ensures sites have the resources needed to continue to provide nutritious meals to children and adults who are food insecure within our service area.
SUMMARY
This position provides program support to all the Child Nutrition Initiative (CNI) programs. This position is responsible for the day to day maintenance and function of program support. It will focus on the coordination of Web Portal Applications and Evaluation component for Kids Café (KC), Backpacks for Kids (BP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Through these programs the Food Bank along with community partner sites will provide children’s meals. This position will work with these community partners to ensure all CNI sites are utilizing current technology, monitor all required documentation for programs is on file with the Food Bank and assist to ensure evaluation of programs is completed in accordance with State, Federal and Feeding America Guidelines. - Responsible for the implementation and collection of evaluations for the KC, BP and SFSP sites.
- Prepare reports with Manager of Programs to submit to Director of Programs and VP of Agency Services and Programs.
- Schedule, organize and lead mandatory annual and refresher trainings to all KC and SFSP sites.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of outreach strategies for CNI programs. Responsible for connecting people in the broader community and cultivating relationships with businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations to increase number of CNI program sites.
- Work with current KC, BP and SFSP sites to increase participation.
- Provide support to Director of Programs and Manager of Programs for quarterly feedback sessions, annual orientations, and ongoing training for all KC and SFSP sites.
- Coordinate menu tasting with Nutrition Manager and Food Service Manager for KC and SFSP sites.
- Maintain and update GCFB Web Portal and SmartSheets to ensure info is current.
- Provide ongoing trainings on Meal Counter and Programs Portal as needed.
- Maintains required job knowledge and skills and core professional competencies. Attends and participates in required educational programs and staff meetings.
- Monitors and organizes all files by fiscal year and available for any audits. Internal documentation on monthly menus, daily sign in sheets, site visit forms, required site licenses, pre-site approval forms, separate entity agreement forms, signed contracts, filed reimbursements, signed training documents and more information must be organized and updated all year.
- With Manager of Programs, attend all ODE trainings for KC and SFSP sites.
- Works closely with Programs Manager throughout the year assisting with various special projects such as exploring the possibility incorporating fresh produce at sites.
- Conduct pre-approval visits, site visits and follow-up site visits for KC, BP and SFSP sites. Complete paperwork needed for Manager of Programs to register new sites in ODE’s system.
- Working with Manager of Programs, create an annual site visit calendar, assuring all KC sites are scheduled for their required visits a year and all SFSP sites are visited once in the first week of operation and again in the first four weeks.
- Communicate any issues on site visits with Manager of Programs so a corrective action form can be completed.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Some college course work or Associates Degree required. Three years related experience in social service preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ServSafe Certified required (will offer training), Unencumbered Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position include: Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position. Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. frequently. Ability to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery constantly. Occasional ability to ascend/descend stairs to access work spaces. Occasional ability to position or move body to access filing cabinets or other work equipment. Ability to constantly exchange accurate information and communicate in person or via telephone with clients, partners, donors, coworkers and other members of the community. Must be able to constantly view a computer screen. Ability to move office equipment/supplies occasionally. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs on a regular basis. Travel is frequently required for this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
