Through developmental assignments, supports seasonal and long-range ORI planning processes by analyzing trends, developing manpower and equipment forecasts, schedule baselines, and recommending schedule adjustments. Over time, works on increasingly unusual or difficult assignments leading to full proficiency.

Assists in developing project prioritization by applying Resource Leveling/CPM (Critical Path Method) techniques utilized in a repair/maintenance facility production environment. Assists in preparing summary & detail department/craft level SPI (Schedule Performance Index) reports to keep plant/regional/project managers aware of overall outage schedule performance. Work assignments are designed to build skills.

Assists the production units by preparing various schedule scenarios and project benefit analysis. Manage the upload process utilized to electronically input numerous customer work order requests via external system interfaces & analyzes their impact on production schedule(s). Ensure all shop repair/maintenance related activities are integrated and prioritized to best meet overall system generation needs. Applies resource leveling/critical path techniques and prepares risk analysis reports & recommendations.

Provides field support at respective sites during outages & interfaces with engineering, plant, project, contractor & partners on a continuous basis. Supports the Work Management processes as required in project and outage execution.

Analyze cost data to find methods of reducing costs and/or increasing efficiency and coordinate a corrective action plan. Develop cost benefit analysis.

Develop Project Budgets and reporting structure for actual expenditures and monitor performance. Assist in developing budgets and reporting structure for actual expenditures and monitor performance as requested.

Tracks the physical progress of multiple outage projects/production schedules to ensure work is developing as planned. Conducts project/equipment walk-downs to verify that progress reported is accurate and daily work-center/equipment line-ups are reflected in schedule and have proper work activities.

Supervision Received:

Assignments are clearly and specifically given and work is reviewed for accuracy and technical adequacy. Productive level work may be governed by standard operating procedure. Independent initiative is expected as experience develops. Work may be closely supervised as proficiency develops. Independent decision making progresses over time.

Minimum Qualifications (Consistent with Classification Standard):

Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, or equivalent. Should possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a repair/maintenance facility production environment. Detailed knowledge of generating power plant systems (Fossil, Hydro, and Gas) is desirable. Must have detailed knowledge of project control practices, methods, procedures. Certification by the Project Management Institute or AACE International is desirable as evidence of proficienc
