Orsman Design (ODI) is an award-winning design firm for interior and landscape lighting. With offices in Southampton, New York and Miami, ODI serves clients throughout the United States and internationally.

We are looking for a self-motivated CAD drafter/ Project Coordinator for our NYC studio.

Role and Responsibilities

Prepare detailed drawings of architectural lighting designs for interior and landscape lighting designs according to specifications provided by Project Manager.

• Create lighting plans, elevations and details using AutoCAD
• Generate project related documentation using Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
• Prepare client presentations and proposals
• Coordinate with procurement team on fixture deliveries, orders, and estimates
• Assist project managers to ensure deadlines are met
• Interpret and draft plan and document markups accurately and correctly
• Count fixture quantities based on plans
• Create electronic meeting notes during site visits and meetings
• Generate fixture load schedule and LED chart spreadsheets
• Calculate square footage of projects based on floor plans
• Communicate daily with project manager on task and deliverable status
• Upload and maintain organization of files on cloud-based drawing storage platform
• Maintain organization of project directory and company files
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

Minimum education of High School Diploma required. A degree in architecture or design is desirable. Lighting (design) experience big plus.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD required, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
• Electrical knowledge of architectural dimming systems (drivers, loads & wiring, fixture types) big plus
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent time management skills
• Self-starter and the ability to execute tasks with little direction
• Good communicator
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English
• Ability to interpret markups and comments
• Work location Southampton
• Work Remotely: ocassionally

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
