The focus areas will include Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) and Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESCs). This position will join ORNL’s team to facilitate performance contracting project development and performance tracking for federal agency customers with multi-million-dollar ESPC projects and other alternatively financed projects. The ORNL team, funded by FEMP, provides federal agencies with expert assistance to help them enhance the nation's energy security and environmental stewardship through the implementation of sound, cost-effective energy management, and investment practices. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review ESPC Measurement & Verification (M&V) reports, extract data on project cost and savings (cost, energy, water, other) and accurately enter the data into the project data repository for further analysis
  • Assist in the analysis of project and portfolio data to identify potential issues for follow-up as well as successful elements that could be duplicated across the portfolio
  • Engage agency project site representatives to assess their project status, identifying delayed or missing information, and summarize project and program performance.
  • Contribute to the annual portfolio-wide analysis of energy and financial performance of ESPCs
  • Support senior staff as they develop new training presentations for conferences, webinars or pre-recorded training sessions
  • Assist senior staff in the development of white papers, fact sheets, case studies and other reference documents for the program

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in engineering, science, business, economics or related discipline and a minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
:

  • Master’s degree
  • Professional licensure as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Membership in a professional society such as ASHRAE
  • Basic understanding of building HVAC systems, controls, and electrical systems
  • Some experience with building HVAC calculations and building energy modeling

This position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days after which it will close when a qualified candidate is identified and/or hired.
