Position Summary

Responsible for managing all processes of construction projects for Federal government and other contracts,
including meeting with departmental clients to review the project, estimating and maintaining project budgets;
coordinating the work of designers, sub contractors, construction supervisors, etc. to successful completion and
close out of projects within the contract time and budget.

Major Responsibilities

The major responsibilities for this position include:
  • Be able to run projects of $1M+ with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate with designers and subcontractors for design build projects to ensure that all requirements are
incorporated and that it is within bid requirements.
  • Overall responsible for quality control of project(s) assigned. This includes review of submittals and materials
to be installed on a project.
  • Create, monitor and update project schedules. Be able to work with in-house carpenters to plan and
coordinate project construction. This also includes coordination with subcontractors to ensure contract
completion dates are met and resolve any problems/discrepancies that may arise.
  • Create project change proposals and execute change orders.
  • Monitoring of and overall responsible for financial success of the project(s) assigned.
  • Be able to bid on design build (DB) and design, bid, build (DBB) projects.
  • Customer Service and Marketing - be able to promote Pioneer Contracting for future work.
  • Average work hours required are 40 – 60 hours a week and are based on project demands / requirements,
schedules and deadlines of projects assigned.

Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for this position include the following:

  • Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience as a practicing engineer or equivalent.
  • Skills/Abilities: Computer literate, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project
programs (Bluebeam, Suretrack and Primavera P3 program knowledge preferred) and Timberline program,
organizational, managerial and negotiating skills; ability to interact with clients; excellent verbal and written
communication skills; analytical reasoning and problem solving skills; ability to maintain accurate and detail
records.

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
  • Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
