Project Manager, DAS (New Jersey)

As Boingo's Project Manager, you'll take charge of projects to fulfill our agreements with a variety of venues. You'll manage the implementation of DAS projects from sales to successful rollover to the O&M phase. You will work closely with site owners, general contractors, managers, cellular carrier reps, and your Boingo colleagues. You will manage the daily direction of all project-related activities that pertain to our agreements with cellular carriers and venue managers. (e.g., airport authorities, building management, municipalities, etc.)

The Project Manager will be required to work at multiple venues throughout the Northeast, with most projects in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Boingo operates as an essential business and its workers take pride in always keeping systems available to the public.

Responsibilities

  • Team-lead responsibility for the design, construction, test, and launch of DAS systems in select venues
  • Review executed Host Agency contracts, Carrier Agreements, contractors & subcontracts, etc.
  • Prepare Project Plans and set up project teams; work and coordinate with the NYC-based PM team
  • Manage and coordinate day to day construction activities related to all on-site implementation and operations work in accordance with Agreements, Contracts and Project Plans
  • Work directly with host facility representatives to establish and maintain cooperative relationships
  • Support the discovery, review, and evaluation of all potential service sub-contractors
  • Follow Program Control's Project Tracking and Reporting Process
  • Prepare and conduct Program & Project Review Presentations
  • Establish Preventative & Emergency Maintenance Plans
  • Conduct on-site management of all Boingo field personnel, contractors & subcontractors
  • Coordinate and oversee all acceptance testing
  • Coordinate and oversee of all project management work schedules and weekly look-a-heads
  • Manage all coordination effort between Host Agency Project Managers & General Contractors, various trade labor contractors, engineering firms, etc.
  • Serve as the first contact for contract compliance
  • Work directly with vendors in areas of documentation, spares, support, upgrades, commissioning, ATP and maintenance
  • Options for working from home

Requirements

  • 7 + years of experience in telecommunications industry management.
  • Experience in working with telecom companies and host agencies is required.
  • A solid grasp of project management functions.
  • A professional demeanor and the ability to interface directly with senior company management is a must.
  • Able to manage a diverse group of subcontractors and employees, as well as effectively perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Experience and moderate knowledge of RF distribution systems and fiber optic systems is required.
  • Minimum of OSHA 10 Hr. Construction Certification to apply. An upgrade to an OSHA 30 Hr. Construction Certification with NYC SST Certification will be required within 30 days of employment.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (engineering or equivalent).
  • An MBA and five (plus) years of hands-on telecommunications related construction, project management and operations experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for office management, including working with our landlord on office amenities and needs.
  • Heading up the safety team and working with senior management on our crisis management plan. Ensuring that the workplaces support a healthy and safe environment for all employees and visitors is a priority. You represent Boingo as the Safety Officer and first point of contact for the venues when they have requests.
  • Help keep the work environment well set up for employees by having the tools they need on hand and the space maintained.
  • Order and stock office and kitchen supplies, preparing desks for new hires, assisting in packing up departing employee's desks, and handling repairs
  • Manage the front desk, including security access, checking in guests, and support of executive and customer meetings.
  • Supporting the regional offices with their facility needs.
  • In coordination with the HR team, work on the ideation and roll out of large and small events that encourage interaction among employees with a dose of fun and healthy competition.
  • Managing mail distribution, the postage machine, copy equipment, and other related operational activities.
  • Manage access to several of our venues including the high-profile Port Authority and MTA locations.
  • Manage the operations team with their EZ Pass account.
  • Manage and track internal training programs for the operations team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of office management experience
  • Exceptional judgment and the ability to be discreet on sensitive matters.
  • Ability to respond after hours for important, timely or urgent manners.
  • Detail oriented with strong follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Proficient in using software programs that assist with office management.
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and high energy.
  • Collaborative, strong team and interpersonal skills.
