Purpose

The Risk Manager needs to develop, communicate and champion risk policies and processes for an organization. This individual need to provide hands-on development of risk models involving interconnection, development, construction, procurement, financial, commercial and operational risk. This individual needs to have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the judgement, restraint and communication skills requisite for a senior manager. This individual needs to Identify, assess, and organize key risks for the projects. Collaboration with stakeholders across the firm will be key.

Responsibilities

  • Implement an overall risk management process for the organization
  • Prepare risk registers for key projects, track risks and mitigations through project life.
  • Organize and communicate portfolio risks to senior management.
  • Creating business continuity plans to mitigate the risks
  • Reviewing major contracts or internal business proposals/models
  • Educate wider company about risk, contingency, uncertainty around projects

Skills and Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience in industry and/or risk management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with renewable construction and project development preferred.
  • Flexibility in qualifications will be considered for qualified candidates.

Professional Risk Manager (PRM)

  • Relevant experience in construction, project development or management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information appropriately
  • A working knowledge of construction law, contracts, claims avoidance, insurance, and contract administration is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.
  • Ability to navigate and succeed in a highly matrixed reporting organization.
  • Ability to travel 20%.
