Description
This position will work within the Property Pricing team in New York City and will report to a senior pricing actuary. Responsibilities required of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Pricing reinsurance treaties & facultative programs
- Working closely with underwriters and technical specialists
- Assisting in portfolio optimization and business performance measurement
- Participating in completion of quarterly reserving and profitability studies for business lines
- Parameter studies of loss trend, loss development factors, increased limits factors
- Supporting ad-hoc actuarial projects
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a P&C actuarial role
- Pricing experience preferred (reinsurance or primary)
- Strong experience in Excel, VBA, and other data science tools (e.g. Python, SQL, Snowflake)
- Actuarial Exam progress commensurate with work experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
Work Schedule
TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with approximately 3 days in the office per week, with the remainder of the week remote.
Compensation
In addition to base salary, for this position, TransRe offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $100,000 to $145,000. This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant’s specific skill set and level of experience.
