Job Description


We are seeking a technician who will support our electronics lab in the area of prototype and sample builds, supporting automotive electronics applications. In this position, you will work with internal and external engineering teams and contractors, to build and verify automotive wiring harness and breakout box solutions, following safety practices and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and modify harnesses, breakout boxes and prototype hardware
  • Collaborate with engineers to determine best electrical wiring and mechanical implementation solutions
  • Automotive controller circuit modifications
  • Provide prototype design support including bill of material documentation support
  • Repair defective lab equipment
  • Support and perform electrical and electronics testing
  • Monitor and document tests
  • Perform and analyze tests to track results and make improvements
  • Support lab administration including lab organization, calibration of equipment, material purchases and material inventory planning
  • Participate in problem solving process

Qualifications
  • Able to read harness wiring and electronics circuit diagrams
  • Soldering and mechanical workmanship skills
  • Background in electrical and electronics lab environment
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Able to operate multi meters, oscilloscopes, waveform generators and bench top power supplies
  • Creative problem solver
  • Strong customer focus
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects
  • Able to take initiative to recommend improvements
  • In-depth understanding wiring solutions
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Motivated to expand knowledge base
  • Experience as a technician, technician apprentice, or relevant work experience
  • Ability and willingness to work in areas outside main area of responsibility
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
