LFCS is seeking compassionate professionals to provide effective counseling/therapy services to individuals, couples and families who seek help for mental health related concerns. The position will primarily serve children, youth, adults and families in an office setting in the Cape Girardeau, MO area.
Provide effective counseling/therapy to clients including case coordination and crisis intervention as needed. Maintain accurate and complete client records. Continue professional growth. Participate in peer consultation. Collaborate with community networks as needed for client services and program development. Maintain the highest levels of standards of ethics and confidentiality. Serve on department and agency committees or work groups as needed.
Provisional Therapist – Must either
Licensed Therapist - Must be professionally licensed in the state of Missouri as a professional counselor, clinical social worker or marriage and family therapist. (LPC, LCSW or LMFT) 3 years of social services experience.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of counseling theories and practices, therapeutic models and interventions for use with children and youth. Knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment planning. Knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations. Knowledge of community resources. Effective professional therapeutic skills. Crisis intervention skills. Ability to function as an effective team member. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain accurate and complete client records. Computer skills and time management.
