Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems (TBHS) has been providing services within Tuscola County since 1974. As the Community Mental Health Agency within Tuscola County, we are here to provide services to children with severe emotional disorders, adults with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disorders.
*This job is located in Caro, Michigan.
**Flexible in terms of hours (i.e. part-time or contractual).
***Pay Negotiable.
- TBHS qualifies for the Student Loan Forgiveness through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
- TBHS is an approved NHSC (National Health Service Corps) Site and qualifies for the Loan Repayment Program.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology.
- Knowledge related to special issues surrounding children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) is required.
- Ability to adapt to different community-based situations/locations in order to complete psychological assessments.
- Ability to exercise independent and mature judgement and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Clinical awareness and sensitivity, including belief that individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental illness can be meaningful participants in our community.
- Valid liability insurance required. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance are required.
Responsibilities:
- This position provides professional and comprehensive care within the scope of agency services.
- Provides a wide array of psychological/behavioral support services for adults and children with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental illness in community-based settings.
- Consults with service providers.
- Responsible for extensive case documentation.
- Provides court testimony of prepared documents.
- Performs psychological assessments including testing, diagnosis, behavioral assessments, and recommendations for treatment across the continuum of care.
- Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program in such a manner that fulfills TBHS’ mission, policies, and procedures.
- Provides development and monitoring of behavioral support programs.
- Provides staff trainings for behavioral support services including continued efforts toward quality improvement and participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and actively supports culturally competent, recovery based practices.
