Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to facilitate the Procurement process for the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) Procurement Division.
How does it get done?
Articulate the appropriate verbiage to procure Intent to Bid's (ITB's), Statewide Price Agreements (SPA's), and Request for Proposals (RFP's). This position will communicate with multiple individuals to ensure all procurement is processed correctly and timely.
Who are the customers?
NMDOT Procurement Division personnel, executive staff and outside entities.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience with Intent to Bid (ITB), Statewide Price Agreements (SPA) and
- Knowledge of the Procurement Code regarding ITB's, SPA's & RFP's.
- Knowledge of the Procurement Division rules and guidelines.
- Experience with SHARE (Statewide-Human Resources-Accounting-Reporting).
- Knowledge of the Administrative Code and Model of Accounting Processes (MAPS).
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent drafting and typing skills.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and Finance and two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, procurement and/or warehouse clerking. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting, with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive computer and telephone usage. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
