Overview:

The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for properly receiving and storing all incoming resort goods. They will assist with the inbound & outbound freight and package tracking for the resort. The Purchasing Assistant will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards.

Responsibilities:
- Stores all received food, beverage, chemicals, paper and supplies in the designated location, ensuring proper rotation of goods
- Assists with managing the inbound and outbound freight and package tracking for the resort
- Fills requisitions, stages orders and delivers products at pre-determined times
- Keeps storerooms clean and orderly
- Delivers F&B products to resort outlets from central storerooms
- Checks quality and quantity of received goods, comparing invoice to purchase order and communicates any differences to buyer
- Communicates outs/short orders to customers
- Assists with writing and placing orders using a purchase order
- Assists with product transfers using Foodtrak
- Responsible for keeping storeroom clean, safe and orderly at all times, including floors cleaned and cardboard broken down daily
- Monitors and communicates product shortages/overstock and quality concerns regularly
- Transports goods between Purchasing Dept. and outlets.
- Participates in continuing product and systems trainings
- Assists Director of Purchasing with month-end physical inventory
- Works closely with F&B and resort managers to analyze costs, providing help as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College education preferred
- Prior experience in hotel/resort purchasing, receiving or related field preferred
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
- At least one year customer service experience preferred
- Must have valid drivers license and meet resort driving standards
- Must have valid OLCC card
- Must have valid Food Handler’s permit
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
