Purchasing Assistant, UHS Hospitals

United Health Services is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support the Procurement Department functions for UHS Hospitals. This is a benefits-eligible position.

Shift: Days/Evenings

Hours per week: 20

Salary range: $17.50 - $23.68/hour, depending on experience

Purchasing Assistant Position Overview

As a part of the Procurement team you will process, maintain and distribute documents and information in support of the Procurement Department functions for UHSH, Ideal, CMH, DVH, PHC/TT and UMG.

Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities and Expectation

Expedites orders as directed. Includes, but not limited to: adding line item notes with the current status and communicating any delays to the applicable department personnel.

Completes data entry into the Materials Management computer system (PMM).

Assists in placing online orders, PO creation, faxing and/or calling in orders as directed and confirming pricing on orders.

Assists in maintaining departmental filing systems.

Assists with day to day activities involving purchase orders and invoices. Examples include, monitoring Purchase Orders, Accrued receipts and Discrepant invoices.

Coordinates and distributes Open PO Report monthly and other reports as requested.

Monitors and directs supplychain@uhs.org requests.

Answers telephones in a professional manner, handling callers needs or referring calls to the proper individual.

Assists in greeting salespeople and other guests visiting the department. Functions as a resource for sales representatives for questions regarding hospital operations and vendor policy maintaining professional business and ethical relationships

Position Qualifications

Minimum:
High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
Hospital purchasing experience
