The Purchasing Manager will manage daily purchasing activities, supervising staff and allocating tasks to ensure the most efficient delivery of required materials to meet demand and production forecasts. This individual will also be responsible for overseeing a variety of administrative and staff support activities including but not limited to RFQ activities, maintaining supplier files, gathering supplier data, and ensuring system information is complete and accurate. This position requires a focused individual with a high level of organization, attention to detail and excellent communication with both internal and external customers.
In this position you will use your experience to:
- Procure and manage inventory for certain raw materials and/or finished goods.
- Works with Demand and Supply Planning teams to develop and refine tools that accurately align demand for materials with production and sales forecasts.
- Support RFQ/RFPs by preparing bid documents, analyzing competitive offerings and recommending final proposal to Supply Chain leadership.
- Establish, monitor, and optimize target inventory levels and Procurement Strategies in ERP system
- Recommend alternative supply options for portfolio items. Requires collaborating with R&D + Engineering teams on the sourcing, costing and implementation of new suppliers and materials.
- Co-own the supplier onboarding, approval, and vendor maintenance processes with the Quality Dept. to ensure that all vendor specific regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Negotiates with vendors regarding specifications, prices, and delivery.
- Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures.
- Expedite and de-expedite open orders, solving problems such as late delivery and variation from specifications.
- Participate in and contribute to project team meetings with suppliers to ensure projects launch on time
- Interviews vendor representatives and salespeople to establish new sources, products and methods of procurement.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Work with Procurement team to meet critical company and departmental KPIs.
- Identify, drive, and track cost reduction opportunities and programs.
- This position may require travel up 10% travel.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or CPM/CPSM Certification
- 5+ years business, technical or quality experience, including experience in sourcing and procurement. Medical device or pharma experience ideal
- Exposure to RFQ/RFP development and execution
- Sourcing experience for low complexity commodities
- Project management and organizational skills
- International procurement experience with a focus on China supply a plus.
- Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and provide exceptional customer service
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
- Communication skills: Written, Oral and Presentation

- 5 year(s): Sourcing & Procurement Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment (Pharma and/or Medical Device)
Education
Required- Bachelors or better
