JVIC is currently accepting applications for a QA/QC INSPECTOR

Position Summary

QA/QC Inspectors will test, sample and inspect raw materials, fabricated, machined, assembled structures, and industrial processes for quality, deviations, or defects according to specifications. This position will be inspecting welds and welding processes.

Position Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
  • Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
  • Inspect raw materials.
  • Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors and other appropriate members.
  • Will test welders for qualifications.
  • Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams.



Required Qualifications

  • Perform dimensional and orientation inspection of pipe spools
  • Accurately and efficiently document all inspections performed
  • Data entry using Gadget and ZPTS, company proprietary software (similar to Excel)
  • Must have previous MT (Mag test) Experience.
  • Preferably have VT and PT qualification and/or ability to requalify for our company
  • Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
  • Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
  • Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Additional Qualification

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • Experience working as a welder on industrial construction projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools with up to 70 ft-lbs. of pressure.
