This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Lubbock, TX.

Job Purpose
Food Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing and managing the facilities food safety programs. They abide by regulatory authority, SQF, and company policies. They do so by training and hiring staff, and implementing policies, strategies, and methodology testing. This position will report to the Plant Manager. Relocation assistance accommodated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee Quality Assurance in multiple plants located in Lubbock, TX and Portales, NM.
- Responsible for the quality control aspects of raw materials and finished products
- Prepares reports on each test preformed for measuring quality, quantity, and composition
- Computes formulas, percentages or production specific factors using chemical and mathematical procedures
- Assist in setting quality standards and ensure that production is maintained at such standards
- Sample and identify, if any, bacterial or non-desirable excess material
- Prepare graphs, charts, and reports from test results
- Responsible for maintaining the long-term continuity of production and service quality
- Completes tests required for food product packaging
- Keep records of all tests that have been carried out
- Perform quality control analysis including tests and inspections of products and processes
- Maintain the corporate quality manual and quality records
- Review and report the principle causes of quality loss and non-conformance
- Ensure all check sheets are correctly completed and all non-compliance found have had the correct action taken and signed off
- Arrange, coordinate, and participate in external and internal quality audits
- Work and Coordinate pick ups and testing with third part lab
- Train, and hire quality assurance team members
- Monitor what products are running during each shift
- Schedule HACCP Team Meetings & Food Safety Team Meetings
- Monitor completed work required paperwork by QA Techs, for example: QA documents, metal detector sheets, roasting peanuts report, and weight check sheets
- Collect samples for lab and for micro samples and be able to document. Send out samples for testing with proper paperwork
- QA Manager to monitor HACCP, SQF requirements, operating procedures and Food Safety Sanitation
- Maintain visual pre-operational sanitation inspections prior to beginning of the day’s production after clean break to ensure food safety
- Assist Floor Supervisors with any task that needs to be done
- Monitor grocery Store complaints and assist with corrective action programs
- Complete Customer Vendor Forms with requested SQF documentation
- Help with internal audits, ie: SQF, Food Defense, Chemical Audits, GMP audits
- Monitor incoming products, insure they are being inspected
- Keep Grocery Store Websites updated on ICIX, ITQ, ASPARGIO with documentation and pictures of products. ie; Loblaw, Walmart, Darden, etc.
- Validate Pre-Requisite Programs for SQF and HACCP
- Work with Customer Relations for customer complaint responses
- Communicate with sales for specifications for new products & existing products
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years’ experience of Quality Assurance in food production
- 3+ years’ of Leadership experience
- Knowledge of company GMPs
- SOP’s for all quality assurance functions
- General knowledge of SSOP’s for all quality assurance areas and pieces of production equipment
- Plant Inspection Program and Pre-operational Inspection Program
- Warehouse Programs (Shipping, Receiving, and Storage)
- Knowledge of HACCP, SQF Edition 7.2 requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Certified in Food Safety & Sanitation
- Certified HACCP & advanced HACCP course/HACCP Coordinator
- SQF practitioner
- Internal Auditor Certified
- Trained in Food Defense
- Knowledge of Microbiology Testing
- Knowledge of Loblaw Customer Requirements
- Be able to determine if a product needs to be put on hold and document when product goes on hold or if product is reworked
- Data entry skills to produce reports, build files, label printing, trend analysis and trend analysis reports
- Manage Pest Control Program
- Monitor QA equipment and calibration schedules
- Monitor PM’s and order parts for sanitation equipment such as floor scrubbers
- Involved with external audits such as SQF, Kosher, customer audits, etc.
- Responsibility for Traceability for Picking Tables findings
- Monitor Raw Line Micro testing & Sanitation
- Monitor Environmental Program

Quality Assurance:
- Know and enforce GMP policy and all Quality policies and procedures.
- Assist in disposition of non-conforming product to aid in eliminating waste.
- Communicate daily with Quality Division to ensure customer specifications are being met.
Corporate Compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to all corporate policies and procedures as defined by Meherrin guidelines.
- Insure that all employees, upon first day of employment, complete Meherrin Safety & Personal Protective Equipment Training, & New Employee Orientation
