QC/QA MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct all tests according to Welsch’s QC/QA Plan
  • Review all test results and react accordingly
  • Keep a record of compressive test results and evaluate statistically
  • Train designated plant operators and insure that all yard tests are being run and reported
  • Review job specifications and determine mixes to be submitted
  • Upload new mixes or mix changes to the appropriate yards
  • Investigate customer quality complaints and report findings in writing to the President
  • Whenever in a yard talk to the plant operator about the batch computer, the plant, yard, and material issues that relate to product quality and consistency. If a problem exists notify the proper people so that the problem is addressed in a timely fashion. If the problem is not resolved notify the President.
  • Visit jobs and get customer input regarding finishing, setting, and other quality issues.
  • Conduct tests on jobs to be aware of changes that occur in transit
  • Run tests on jobs to educate the contractor
  • Keep a daily diary
  • Make suggestions regarding modifying mixes in order to optimize quality and maximize profit
  • Keep all personnel certifications current
  • Attend various industry meeting to continue increasing product knowledge
  • Run aggregate gradations when there is a source change, or at minimum, weekly
  • Calibrate all testing equipment as required by IDOT or as needed. Keep appropriate records
  • Prepare and submit to IDOT: QC/QA Plan, Plant Certification, and Truck Certification
  • Train new drivers on concrete basics
  • Stay familiar with all relevant ACI and ASTM Standards
  • Keep Chicago, Summit & Midlothian plant CDOT certified
  • Inform the President of any serious issues

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

  • ACI Level 1 and 2 Certifications (Preferred)
