Job Description:

The Quality Technician will cordinate containment activities for supplier caused nonconforming parts currently stocked in L3Harris stores. The Quality Technician will be the focal for the following activities:

• Creating and monitoring status of open component containments “purges”.
• Partner w/ applicable supplier quality engineers on purge activities.
• Defining measurement methodology and utilizing measurement gauges, inspection instruments, microscopes to perform inspections.
• Cordinates with applicable stakeholders on returning nonconforming parts back to suppliers.
• Works under limited supervision.

Essential Functions:

• Support L3Harris operations when supplied material is identified as nonconforming and take appropriate containment.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical hardware to detemine acceptance or rejectance
• Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of inspection experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of inspection experience.
• Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience in mechanical inspections utilizing inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, surface plate, electronic and mechanical height gages, pin gages, comparator).

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Certified to IPC-A-600
• Certified to IPC-A-610
• Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620
