The Quality Technician-2nd shift (manufacturing experience) is responsible for attaining, validating, and maintaining standards of quality for product specifications and quality procedures. Responsible for the training of new personnel on the importance of quality procedures. Responsible for analyzing customer returns, validating customer complaints, auditing products and processes, conducting various tests, inspection of products, and creating jigs for new and existing product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for analyzing returned product and preparing reports

· Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, quality control procedures and shipping and packing practices for conformity to specified standards

· Responsible for ensuring nonconformities are corrected

· Conduct audits of products and processes according to the established procedure

· Responsible for testing new products and prepare reports (i.e.chemicals)

· Provide support to the various departments for product quality questions

· Responsible for training new QA/QC Techs

· Responsible for training other department employees on standard work instructions

· Responsible for Calibrating equipment and using measurement equipment (jig tools, tape measures, etc.)

· Responsible for collecting and preparing for sample requests per corporate procedure

· Comply with the company’s occupational health and safety standards

· Responsible for writing, and maintaining standard work instructions

· Support performance indicators, related to credit applications, that target manufacturing processes

· Utilization of Navision

· Problem solving skills/analyzation skills

· Must be detail oriented and execute daily tasks efficiently

· Listen effectively and actively

· Support production by solving customer satisfaction issues

· Participate in the improvement of manufacturing processes and meetings

· Participate in the development, review, and validation of our standards and quality criteria

· Perform other duties assigned

· Education and/or Experience – 2 year Associates Degree preferred; must have a High School Diploma, a related field, or equivalent or demonstrated ability to learn all required duties and responsibilities

· Knowledge with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, an asset

· Knowledge of thermoforming and extrusion techniques, an asset

· Knowledge of Six Sigma audit techniques and tools, an asset

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, an asset

· Ability to troubleshoot and work under pressure

· Familiar with calibration system and measurement devices ( ex.: caliper … )

· Ability to maintain open, direct, positive and objective lines of communication with management

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written/email) to interact with clients, plant and retail level.

· Experience with developing/documenting/procedures

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to work with minimal supervision

· Computer Skills – Knowledge of computer workstations and peripheral equipment; knowledge of database, spreadsheet, PC-based computing experience, Microsoft Office, Internet and essential and word processing software

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
