As the R&D Alliance Manager you will initiate & manage R&D collaboration projects between Synopsys and our strategic customers. You will work alongside account, applications and R&D teams to ensure customer success, while accomplishing long-range account goals. You are focused to grow Synopsys’ business, as a byproduct of helping customers reach their end-goals.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $111,000-$194,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with R&D and customer senior managers to structure projects with clear objectives, milestones, and resource plans; then oversees their execution.
- Develops deep relationships with both customers and Synopsys teams based on trust & accountability and leverages those relationships to advance projects.
- Champions key customer requirements to business units (BUs), while exercising judgment as to the relative priority / importance of multiple (often competing) needs.
- Negotiates collaboratively with both customer and BUs to find ways to achieve goals.
- Ensures that value is delivered as expected, by both the customer and Synopsys, and then articulates that value to key stakeholders to shore up their continued commitment.
- Leads by influence motivating extended team members that are not direct reports to hit necessary goals within expected timelines
- Provides regular updates to both SNPS and customer management across multiple levels – from Engineering managers to GM’s
- BS/MS in EE with 12+ years of deep EDA-related experience in R&D, applications, or design; the ideal candidate has been exposed to a variety of EDA disciplines, and is a quick learner. Foundry experience and knowledge a plus
- Business-oriented person, who understands and drives actions with direct influence to company’s financials.
- Ability to learn quickly and be nimble across multiple technical disciplines
- Accomplished multi-tasker. Excellent organizational skills, able to turn abstract priorities into actionable plans, and then advance those plans forward to successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrix role, using persuasion & logic to incent action; the ideal candidate has team leadership or management experience.
- Accomplished listener. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to negotiate and find middle ground during deep technical discussions
- Capable of commanding respect of senior technologists, influencing their thinking.
- Track record of personal integrity, successful at cultivating long-term relationships.
- Proven customer-service ethic, in dealing both with external and internal customers.
- Team player focused more on team success – picks up dropped balls, helps others.
