  • Minimum 3 years working in manufacturing environment, using basic hand tools and torque tools
  • At least 1 year operational Aerospace, Aviation, or Automotive experience
  • Must have Amazon.com certified forklift training (or be willing to be trained)
  • Must be willing and able to work on powered equipment-for example forklift or cherry picker
  • Valid Driver’s License and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria
  • With or without reasonable accommodation, be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As the Research and Development Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the assembly & testing of Project Kuiper’s satellite wire harnessing. This role is requires working knowledge of harness tooling, assembly best practices, and typical testing requirements. You will work closely with the design engineering team on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced, start-up like environment. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.

Key job responsibilities
  • Assembly of wire harness test and flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD and ESD sensitive hardware
  • Execute test procedures for component and assembly level testing
  • Assist in the setup and commissioning of production equipment
  • Assemble tooling and assist with equipment maintenance

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Minimum 5 years working in manufacturing environment, using basic hand tools, torque tools, and quality
  • At least 3 years operational aerospace, aviation, or automotive experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: battery, harnessing, structures assembly and test, high voltage environments
  • Ability to build from drawings or lightweight documentation
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Experience with rigging and lift operations
  • Experience with aerospace or aviation quality standards
  • Cleanroom experience
