Position: Racetrack Operations Coordinator

Description
The Simulcast Coordinator provides support to the racing operations to coordinate simulcast calendars, produce daily simulcast and live programs, and oversee program printing. The Simulcast Coordinator is the liaison between Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino and other racetrack and off-track betting entities. This position primarily schedules racetrack signals to import, secures contracts for export of the Sunland Park signal, complies with Racing Commission and Federal guidelines, as well as participate in the marketing of the live and simulcast racing for the entire property. This position is also responsible for racehorse nominations for the live racing season. Also responsible for point of sale and promotional maintenance, merchandise ordering and returns, cash reconciliation, and other duties involved with the sale of wagering information.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Simulcast calendar changes, notify departments of applicable changes,
- Put together and produce programs for all live and simulcast programs and places advertisements in the appropriate programs.
- Produce all daily on-track tip sheets.
- Produce extra programs upon demand.
- Inform all departments of important race days, bets, special promotions, as needed.
- Keep an inventory on program printing paper and orders as needed.
- Maintain logs of printer counts and coordinate with the finance department for accurate monthly record-keeping.
- Compliance reporting for the State of New Mexico and the New Mexico Racing Commission.
- Maintains files for all stake races to include mailing out nomination forms, acceptance of payment, managing purse funds for each race and making bank deposits.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a NM State Racing License.
- Experience with large copiers and printers preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Advanced computer and Internet skills.
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and remain organized.
- Familiarity and understanding of the rules of racing of the New Mexico Horse Racing Commission.
Physical Requirements
- Normal visual acuity with or without corrective lenses is needed to place print advertisements and use a computer to coordinate live simulcasts.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, and work in a noisy, indoor environment.
