Job description
Basic Function:
Primary function is to provide efficient inpatient, outpatient, and ED patient throughput in all areas of the Radiology department to include but not limited to Ultrasound, CT, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and MRI. This individual will ensure a safe patient environment with visual patient observation, coordinating arrivals and returns according to patient needs and medical condition. This individual will be responsible for all requests, both to and from the Radiology Department. The Supervisors of each modality will provide ancillary support and direction for the daily work flow and communicating any specific requests or concerns. An integral component consists of strong, interpersonal skills with an emphasis on collaboration with support services, physicians, technologists, patients, and families. Technical tasks involve utilizing computer skills and a multi-line phone efficiently on an ongoing basis. Secondarily provides patient care needs when based on direct observation.
Requirements:
High school graduate, higher education preferred. Previous background in healthcare with hands on patient contact and patient care experience is preferred. Previous experience or knowledge of a Radiology Department is a plus

Responsibilities:
- Observes patients and reports to Radiologic Technologists any observations related to patient
- Assist Technologists in patient transfers and patient positioning
- Provides directions on having patients change for required exams
- Stock linen in all departments, remove soiled linen
- Stock supplies in exam rooms
- Transport ED patients and inpatients to and from radiology modalities
