About our Firm
- We are an established small civil and transactional law firm located in Boone, North Carolina with a second office location opening in Mountain City, Tennessee later this year. We are looking for a real estate attorney to join the high-volume North Carolina real estate side of the practice, with the opportunity to also expand into estate planning and/or business law if wanted.

About the Position
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in residential real estate closings, including title searching. We cannot emphasize enough that you must have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of handling residential real estate closings.
- We have a team approach to our real estate practice, so you must work well with others. This position will be supported by 2 paralegals, but additional staff is available to help when needed. You would be responsible for title searching, preparing abstracts and title opinions, correcting title issues, reviewing surveys, communicating with all parties to the transaction, and overseeing/assisting with all aspects of cash closings and the occasional loan closings, from start to finish, while also drafting real estate documents such as easements, restrictions for developments and contracts. Must be able to multitask while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and work based off our checklist system (integrated into our tech). Experience with E-Closing software a plus, but not required, training will be provided.
- While we try to promote a great work-life balance, there are occasional projects that will require work outside of the normal 8-5 business hours, but we try to avoid this as much as possible. We are a paperless office that is very technological forward to promote efficiency.
- Depending upon experience but starting at $85,000.00 annual salary for minimum experience, payable in bi-monthly installments.
- Benefits: Paid time off and holidays, Section 125 health insurance, Simple IRA match, reimbursement of relocation expenses, employer paid CLE, employer paid NC state bar dues, employer paid privilege tax. Bonuses are handled on a case by case basis each year.
- After the first year of employment we would be open to negotiating a different pay structure.
- It is anticipated that this will be a Monday – Friday, however, your employment is exempt from both the state and federal minimum wage and overtime pay requirements, therefore you are not entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 per week.
