We have an immediate opening for a
Receiver to join our dynamic team! This position reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Responsible for managing deliveries and ensuring receiving supplies are filled and maintained.
- Verify all invoices for accuracy involving cost, retail, quantity for each delivery and note variance on invoice and to General Manager.
- Distribute received merchandise and maintain merchandise return/transfer area.
- Document product transfers and waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
- Understand and adhere to shrink guidelines as relates to operations.
- Handle damaged or return to stock products according to Haymarket’s policy, with priority given to refrigerated, perishable items and sell by date ensuring all refrigerated items are stocked or properly stored.
- Unload trucks; maintain backstock area and cooler; break down and organize designated loads.
- Observe all safety regulations when operating equipment; keep the receiving area secure while on duty; and operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Report all life safety and fire hazards, along with any other violations of company policy for correction and report all accidents and injuries immediately to the General Manager.
- Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.

- Must have the flexibility to work weekends and with working hours.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100 pounds, unassisted.
- Must be able to lift and carry loads up to 10 pounds regularly and 11-25 pounds intermittently during the work shift.
- Communicate and maintain employee safety and security standards.
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezers), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- Bend and stoop to grasp objects.
- Properly handle and safely climb ladders.
