Job Summary – Warehouse Associate

Under the direction of the Production Planner, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for a variety of warehouse duties including packing, pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping and receiving materials, and material handling and completing all required paperwork in accordance to company policies and procedures.

· Unloads goods and material received, enters appropriate information into system, labels and locates material.

· Separates customer orders. Pulls and stages orders. Repacks material if required to meet customer specifications.

· As required, makes boxes, packs, labels and locates materials.

· Ensures all products are properly labeled.

· Perform all functions/transactions in designated system to receive or ship material.

· Handle material staging process. Work with planning and traffic to stage materials on a daily basis. (New Process)

· Completes sales order, packing list, shipping BOL, Customer requirement spec, and all other applicable shipping documentation according to instructions and procedures.

· Makes all shipping arrangements with freight forwarders, and schedules pick-up times

· Keeps area organized and clean of cardboard, empty skids, loose yarn and trash.

· Reviews preventative maintenance check sheets for forklifts. Ensures good working order of machines.

· May be required to handle the accumulation, disposal and transportation of hazardous waste. If required to do so, must participate in prerequisite training in order to meet RCRA waste management requirements.

· Drives forklifts, locomotives, track mobiles or other heavy duty material movers.

  • Demonstrates team work in all phases of operation.
  • Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
  • Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition.
  • Completes and maintains all required computer inputs. Responsible for data integrity.
  • Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
  • Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods.
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company.
  • Follows all rules, laws and procedures related to HS&E, ISO and other regulations.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

· Required Skill: Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/materials.

  • Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to apply these skill to weights, measures of volume and distance.
  • Must effectively communicate in writing and verbally in English.
  • Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office.
  • Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.
  • Must have problem solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
