The Cancer Center Secretary/Receptionist is a member of the non-nursing staff who serves the Radiation Therapy department by performing clerical duties to facilitate smooth patient flow. Exercises independent judgment and initiative. Acts as unit's hostess and receptionist, registration clerk, and cashier. She performs all computer functions and patient discharges.

- Acts as department's receptionist: greeting patients and routing telephone calls.
- Charges all patients in the computer daily. Accepts payment from patients for physician services provided at the Cancer Center as necessary.
- Registers patients for radiation unit as needed. Weighs patients and puts them in an exam room on first visit.
- Responsible for miscellaneous computer functions including Radiation Therapy Master List and Monthly Numbers Report and others as requested. Assists clinical coordinator with clerical work as requested.
- Responsible for patient records: assembling all patient charts, proper storage and/or scanning, printing dictations, and mailing medical records.
- Coordinates and requests service and maintenance, office and department supplies.
